Our Story

Central Texas Anytime Fitness began as the dream of Kelly and Lindsey Meyer. After having worked in 55 fitness centers in over 15 states, including 2 of the Top 10 largest fitness companies in America, we decided to come back to our hometown and open our own “little gym”. In the first location we bought used weight equipment and home cardio machines and could only afford to hire Kelly as an employee. The carpet was torn and the locker rooms had plumbing issues. The air conditioner gave us trouble in the Texas summer. That was March of 2004.

Since then, that first little gym in downtown New Braunfels has grown to four locations in the Central Texas area. Now, with a staff of twenty, we are even better-equipped to serve the fitness needs of each of our members. And with over 3,500 members, we understand that each person comes to us with different goals and expectations. We rolled out the old used equipment and have replaced everything with state-of-the-art Lifefitness and Hammer Strength equipment. We’ve moved out of the “old club” in downtown and renovated and expanded to share our special concept of fitness with more people who are tired of the “traditional” fitness club model. We have also committed to opening 4-6 additional locations in the region between San Antonio and Austin in the next few years. All of us here at Anytime Fitness Central Texas look forward to exceeding our member’s expectations daily as we continually learn and challenge ourselves to offer the best of fitness at an affordable price.

But in our corporate office we will always keep a picture of the original location and a copy of the first membership we ever wrote as a reminder of where we came from and who we really are.

So “thank you” to all of you who took a chance on us when we started this venture years ago, and “thank you” to all of you who keep us going with your new memberships each day. We truly enjoy the opportunity to serve you and look forward to many years of continuing to keep you and your family fit.
